Children should move as much as possible, preferably outdoors. Your child should play outside for at least 1 hour a day. Your child can do any physical activity they want, for example run, jump, climb or play ball. After sitting for 1 hour, your child should move around. Tell them to get up and play or walk a few steps. If your child spends time in front of a screen, make them move around afterwards.

Physical activity is important in many ways:

  • It helps the development of healthy bones, muscles, and joints.

  • It is good for the immune system and the heart.

  • It is important to feel good in your body and in your mind.

  • It helps feel comfortable in the community.
