The S3 guideline on allergy prevention published in 2022 by the German Society for Allergology and Clinical Immunology (DGAKI) and the German Society for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (DGKJ) recommends that pregnant women eat a balanced, varied diet that meets the nutritional requirements of their offspring and does not include any dietary restrictions (avoidance of potent food allergens) (evidence level A). Accordingly, this should include the consumption of vegetables, milk/dairy products (including fermented milk products such as yoghurt), fruit, nuts, eggs and fish. This opinion is also shared by other societies/organisations and reviews.
